The lead instructor is Simon Pegg. Simon studied Wado Ryu Karate as a child but didn't find what he was looking for until he started learning Jiu Jitsu at the University of Bath at the age of 18.

Simon has been training within "The Jiu Jitsu Foundation" since 1991 and mandated as a club instructor since 1997. During those years he has had been the instructor for Brunel University and Oxford University, founded two clubs (High Wycombe & Chesham which later became Chiltern), and taught at regional and national events. Simon is a life member of The Jiu Jitsu Foundation.

In recent years Simon has also been actively engaged in studying Kendo as he believes understanding more about how the Samurai trained for armed combat can inform and illuminate their unarmed fighting style of Jiu Jitsu.

Simon also holds 1st Kyu (Brown Belt) in Judo and is an Ironman 70.3 triathlete.
